International Sending With Postal

  • Updated

Current as of Jan 1, 2024

Postal Warehouse has the ability to ship to over 200 countries globally. When shipping internationally, your packages ship DDP, which means the taxes and duties are covered before package delivery, so your recipients don’t have to pay. In the event a recipient is asked to pay duties to obtain their shipment that is shipped via DDP service, Postal’s warehousing team should be reached out to resolve the issue.

There are a few countries that have restrictions, which can be found below:

Restricted Countries

Russia, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Syria, and Ukraine.

**As of November 2023, shipments to Israel are currently on pause.

Countries where the recipient must pay duties/taxes - DDU Shipments

Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bhutan, Cambodia, Egypt, Fiji, French Polynesia, Gibraltar, Greece, Greenland, Iceland, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Macau, Mayotte, Myanmar, Nepal, New Caledonia, North Macedonia, Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tunisia, Turkey, Tuvalu, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vanuatu, Venezuela, Virgin Islands, Wallis and Futuna

Countries where the recipient must provide their own personal tax ID

Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, India, and South Korea.

Carriers will require recipients to provide their personal tax ID details in order to accept packages from out of the country. This is a compliance requirement and it is to ensure that packages are accepted only by the proper recipient who has verified their info.

In the event that the ID details are not provided to the carrier in a timely manner, Postal will reach out to recipients. If recipients do not respond within 3 business days, the shipment is at risk of being returned or abandoned.

Returned shipments will incur fees and may be subject to an additional shipping charge. Postal does not refund either of these fees.

India specifically requires the recipient to file their KYC number with the shipment freight carrier. If the recipient's name and address on the shipment do not match their ID, the shipment will be held in customs and need updates to formal documentation. Postal’s warehousing team should be reached out if this occurs.

Customs

Postal has no control over customs, customs delays, customs inspections, or customs requests. We will do everything in our power to assist with any customs issues or delays, however, the assistance we can offer will vary by country and issue. Postal is not responsible for any customs-related issues, delays, or costs associated with shipments being held.
