Getting Started for Users: Notification Settings

This guide will help you structure notifications within your Postal app. Postal recommends all with access to the app enable these notifications to ensure consistency within all efforts in motion for a team and company.

Note: to receive email notifications your email must be connected to Postal.

Why Use Email Notifications?

Email Notifications allow you to get notified automatically when your balance is low, your budget is low, a gift email has been accepted, a MagicLink has been accepted, or your order has arrived. As an Admin, this can help you control your Teams Budgets, especially when you are at that end-of-the-quarter push, setting up a strategic initiative, or just want to always be in the know.

As an Admin, knowing where your funds are is crucial to keeping your team sending. As a best practice, setting a budget notification threshold that will allow you the proper time to ensure that funds can be added to an account through your existing internal processes is strongly encouraged. As a reminder, the Balance is the total of monies in the Account, and your Budget is what you are allowed to spend (team specific) from that Balance in the defined time. Only Admins have control over Budget allocation and timeline.

How to Control Your Personal Email Notifications

Now that you have your email integrated, setting these notifications is a breeze. Postal recommends at least turning on the 'Gift Email Acceptance' notification so you get an alert when an item has been accepted and can act accordingly. Each Toggle is based on your access, as well as how you wish to be notified. 

Under the notifications tile, you will see the “Notification Summary Digest.” This will allow you to get a rundown of the activities that your team is setting up for you to access. This includes processing errors, approval actions for your MagicLinks which we will review later, as well as any new item or events approved for you and your team!

In Review

  • Now that you have reviewed your settings, you are all set to get the alerts you need at the time you need them
  • If you wish to change these settings at any point, please come back to your Profile and do so. You can do it by clicking Profile Settings > Email Settings > Notifications
