Postal is continually developing ways to keep your sends safe. Fraud Check is a feature designed to flag potential fraudulent redemptions and allow you to decide on whether or not the redemption should be allowed.
Currently, the feature is in production for MagicLinks. Scoring is based on the following:
IP address
Country
DNS MX records
Alias usage
The person’s name
Number of redemptions by the same IP address
Website check
If the score is above a certain threshold we will force the order in User Approval flow.
Postal will alert you of this potential fraud by updating you on its status. For example, by clicking on MagicLinks under the Action tab you'll see this: Status = Failing Fraud Score
With Slack integrated, you'll see that approval is needed as well.
Orders in the Approval flow can be approved from the MagicLink page in Postal. Here’s a guide on how to get that done: MagicLink Approval Settings. Clicking on the name of the item from the MagicLinks page will bring up a window where you can see more details and choose to reject or approve the redemption.
