Real-time Slack notifications notify the Postal contact owner any time a recipient interacts with a Postal item that has been sent. Users can customize their settings to choose which recipient actions they want to be notified about in real-time via Slack. Recipient actions include email opens, page views, item acceptance, order delivery, thank you messages (for one-off sends, triggers, and Postal ABM campaigns), MagicLink acceptance, low budget, and more.
Before you get started
- A Postal Admin will need to integrate Postal and Slack initially.
- You must be a Workspace Owner in Slack. Clicking the tile without being a Workspace owner in Slack will send a notification to your Workspace Owner to facilitate the Slack installation.
- The Postal Slack App will be added automatically for your users at the time they receive their first notification.
- Users can customize their own Slack notifications. (See Notifications Settings section below)
- Postal uses your Postal username (email address) to identify and connect your Slack. If your company has done a domain change, please check that your Postal username and Slack username are the same.
Getting Started
Start in Postal
As an Admin in Postal, start by selecting the Profile Menu in the top right corner > Profile > Integrations.
Next, select the Slack tile and start the integration. You’ll need to follow the authentication process.
The Postal Slack app will be added automatically. You can check out Slack’s Add apps to your Slack workspace if you have any issues installing the app.
Now let’s customize your notifications.
Notification Settings
Notification settings can be customized per user.
Start by selecting the Profile Menu in the top right corner > Profile > Notification Settings.
On this page, you have the ability to customize both your Email and Slack notifications. Select the notifications you wish to receive.
And you are all set! Happy sending. 🥳
