There may be a time when you find yourself with outdated swag or unused SKUs, or maybe you just want to lower your storage fees. We recommend evaluating your inventory to ensure that your items are not sitting for longer than 6 months (yes, even seasonal items can quickly fall out of trend). Postal has four options for customers who wish to reduce or make the most of their inventory. Should your team wish to explore any of the below options, please send the applicable details to warehousing@postal.com to get started.
Kitting
Sometimes taking older items and repackaging them into a kit with other items while including a custom insert card can take stale items and turn them into impactful, meaningful gifts. Many times, when kits consolidate multiple items, it can save warehousing space and allow you to use items you have already paid for.
For more information on kitting, please reach out to the warehousing team.
Use it! Ship Out Swag
One of our favorite options for clearing out inventory is through the process of gifting! Maybe that is through a Magiclink on a LinkedIn post or sent internally to your staff. Reach out to your CSM/CSA for more strategies on reducing your inventory through sending.
Donation - Yorkville Facility Only
If you have items that you have no use for but believe may be valuable to others, reach out to the Postal Warehouse Team to learn more about donating your inventory.
To start the donation process, please fill out the information on the GiveNKind website to receive an approval letter for the items you wish to donate. When asked if you are a ShipBob customer (ShipBob is Postal’s Warehouse Partner), check the 'Yes' box and input your warehouse location (Yorkville). If your items are not currently stored in our Yorkville facility, but you would still like to find out your donation options, please reach out to the warehousing team at warehousing@postal.com for help. Please note that not all items will be able to be donated. Custom notecards, stickers, and other small items will need to be disposed of instead and should not be included in the donation request form.
Please note that donation requests will incur some fees. Our donation partner will arrange shipment, but pick fees will still apply. Please reach out to the warehousing team for a quote.
Disposal
For items that don’t make sense to kit or donate, we do have the option to dispose. Just as with donating, the disposal of items will incur some fees. These fees play a crucial role in enabling us to cover various costs associated with the proper processing, labor, and arranging of disposal, all of which are conducted in accordance with the relevant regulations and guidelines.
In certain cases, it may be more cost-effective to have these items shipped to yourself and disposed of/donated locally. Please reach out to the warehousing team for a quote.
