Postal Collections are a great way to offer a selection of up to 100 gift options at once with just a few clicks. You can curate options around a theme or create a selection based on items that have general appeal. In this article, we'll go over how to set up Collections for your team.
What is a Collection?
A Collection provides your recipient with a variety of options so they can choose the one that best suits them. It can hold up to 100 items for your recipient to choose from.
*The recipient will only be able to choose one of the options in the Collection and there is no way to bundle gifts via collections.
To send multiple items separately, check out our How to Start Sending article.
If you want to create a bundle of items, Campaign Studio might be the right route for you.
Create Your Collection
Note: Users can create their own collection from items that have been approved by their Admin or from the Marketplace.
Steps to creating a Collection:
Click on the Marketplace on the top dashboard and proceed by selecting Collections.
Select Standard Collections and to the top right select +Create a standard collection
Next, create your collection.
- Collection Name: This is only visible Internally
- Display Name: This is the name displayed to the recipient
- Enable Collection: Make sure it’s toggled on so you can send once created
- Teams: Select the teams you’d like to share this collection with
- Currency: The currency that your collection will use (only one per collection). Click on a currency even if only one type is available.
- Proceed with Select an item(s).
Adding Items to your Collection:
Begin to add items to your collection. You can choose between Approved items or items within the Marketplace. Once you’ve selected all your items, click on Select Options on the top right.
Next, you will be prompted to select the variants of the items. Once you have selected what you’ve liked, select Create Collection at the top right.
Your collection has been successfully created! From here, you can add items, make edits, or, if everything looks good, proceed with sending it.
Note! Adding more than 12 items will add filters to the landing page when recipients are looking through your collection. |
If you changed the toggle to have your Collection not Enabled, then your Collection is now in Drafts and will need to be approved before sending it out. Move to the next steps to approve your Collection.
Approving your Collection
Once you have built your Collection you’ll need to enable it in order to send it. You can do this by toggling on Show Draft Items.
Click on the draft collection to open it and on the top right select the 3 dots Enable Collections.
Once enabled, there are other options on this screen as well. The 3 dots menu will contain the ability to:
- Disable Collection: Put the collection in a draft state (unable to send)
- Send Collection: Create a Personalized Gift Email
- Create: Magiclink
- Edit Settings: Change collection name, display name, disable collection, adjust access to specific teams, and set campaign mapping
- Clone Collection: Create an exact copy of this Collection
- Delete Collection: Delete this collection
When are Funds/Budget deducted?
Personalized Email: Funds/Budget are deducted the moment the collection is sent. The total will always be the estimated price of the most expensive item in your Collection. Once the recipient has chosen their gift, the difference in price is returned immediately and will impact both the balance and the budget.
Magiclink: The Funds/Budget are deducted once the recipient has accepted the gift.
