Workday Integration

  • Updated

Before You Get Started

Admin access in Postal and Workday is required to successfully integrate with Workday.

Workday recommends using an Integration System User (ISU) for integration using third-party services like Postal. All operations performed by the integration will be logged under this worker instead of one dedicated to integration and workflow processes. If this worker's security profile changes, or if the worker is terminated, integrations that rely on this worker's user account will no longer work. For security reasons, each ISU should be restricted to a single integrated system.

You may need to register a Workday API client if you will be working with custom objects. This is required since authentication to use the Workday REST API requires an OAuth client setup.

The ISU should have all the permissions needed to perform the required actions for your integration.

Once you have set up an ISU with the necessary permissions, you can connect to Postal.

Integrating Postal with Workday

Starting in Postal, select your profile from the top right of Postal. Find Integrations from the Profile Menu (Left). Find the Workday integration tile and select Connect to Workday.

A pop-up will appear and prompt replies to the following:

Connection name - give this connection a descriptive name
Location
Login Name - login name
Password - password associated with the login name
Workday web services version - version of Workday web services
Tenant ID - can be found in the URL when you are logged into Workday
WSDL URL - provide any WSDL URL
Use Custom Objects - working with custom object in Workday requires additional connection settings
Workday tenant timezone - the timezone in your Workday tenant settings.

Advanced Settings - Advanced xml payload for multiple id values

Once the required info has been filled out and the integration has been authorized you should see a success message. The Workday integration tile will change as well.

Clicking on Enabled will bring up the Workday integration Settings page.

Now that the integration is enabled you can start creating triggers.
