Adding Custom Fields To MS Dynamics

  • Updated

Postal’s MS Dynamics 365 integration enables 2-way synchronization between their Dynamics 365 instance and Postal Engage platform for Accounts, Contacts, and engagement metrics. However, Dynamics 365 customers have to set up custom fields to receive and display these metrics.

This document outlines how to operationalize these custom fields.

Note: These instructions are only a guide and refer to Sandbox capabilities. Customers will need to engage their Dynamics365 admin for support and contextualization. Also, it is recommended that customers refer to MS Dynamics 365 documentation for updated and latest instructions.

Before You Get Started

Custom fields are specific to an entity ( e.g. Contact or Account). Below is a tabulation of custom fields you will need to set up.

Note: The prefix “New” is variable and gets automatically added depending on the default Dynamics365 Publisher settings.

Step 7: Once done, Publish the customizations

Mapping Your Custom Field

Custom fields need to be mapped to the default Contact form used by your organization’s Dynamics365 instance.

Step 1: Pick the default Contact form
